We ordered their famous 200$ pack (20 names within 48 hours).

You'd better keep the names you found by yourself or keep searching.

They'll just provide you with a list of 20 random names. Most of them won't have any link with your business. They won't give a fuck about your specifications. We needed an available .com name, most of them are not. We asked no more than 3 syllables, some of them are longer.

Just a waste of time. Was too good to be true.

After 48 hours, you will receive a random list of names that barely relates to your service/product.

After I pay for the service, I was expecting to be contacted by the company to discuss my expectations about my new brand, but they never contacted me to ask anything. How do you expect to create a good name for a business knowing nothing about it?

I was deeply disappointed with their service and provided a detailed feedback. I haven't heard from them since.

Save your money, you are better off asking your friends for naming suggestions for your brand.

They said there were going to be "5 revisions" of the (awful) names given. In their language, that meant just 5 awful names they didn't spent 5 seconds on.

But the thing is they have another company called "Frozen Lemons" (offer the same "service", has the same home address). So please stay away from both of them!

We have not seen any value or an effort on their part and requested a refund once we understood it's a pure scam.

The communication is none existent so as their interest in your brand.

After purchase, I was expecting a detailed questionnaire from them to fully understand what we do and what the brand is all about or will be about in other cases. But nothing! How can you create a name for something without knowing and understanding what it is?

The names generated looked like came from a random name generator.

We also took up on their offer of additional 5 names as the initial round was shit but more than a month has passed and nothing.

We requested a refund but Sophie Griffin is just ignoring all the communication.

So don't be fooled by a fancy front end and their success stories and stay away!

We have been struggling to come up with a name for our new business for months. It has been costing us so much time and was deeply frustrating, we wanted to focus on other (probably more important) things but this name-thing kept haunting us. Eventually we decided to use Brands are Boring which was one of the best business decisions we made so far, should have done that much, much earlier. Ended up with a great name within 48 hours after requesting their help. Now it's time to move on and focus on launching our company!

What a great idea this is, at first I had no idea a service like this even existed. We had the hardest time finding a name for our all-natural skin care brand. Luckily Google found brandsareboring at the right time. We gave it a go and received a bunch of fresh name ideas very different from our own but most of them were good. The names arrived slightly later than promised but they informed us about this in advance (just a couple of hours). Happy with the communication and the results!

Had a great experience with Brands are Boring. We were unable to find a suitable name for our new project management app so went online to look for some help. We found Brands are Boring and placed an order, approx. 40 hours later we received an email with some great brand name ideas (some really good, some less good). We ended up choosing between 3 names that suited the platform and picked the one everybody liked most. Our new company name is definitely well worth the money.

The old adage 'you get what you pay for' is 100% true when it comes to using this supposed brand agency.

I wasn't expecting that they would hit the nail on the head, but was hoping for some ideas that might spark some inspiration. So many of the examples they show on their website are excellent - do not expect ANYTHING like that in what you get delivered.

My brief was for a name for my marketing consulting business which focuses on relationships and helping people build professional connections. I said my clients are professional services firms, so no silly names (I specifically said this). The names I got back? Totally ridiculous names that had no connection whatsoever to my brief - names like 'Solid Scoops', 'Biztopian', 'CaptiBuzz', 'Tip Top Hype', 'Buzzing Bulbs' and 'Yes Peers' where just a few of the highlights. It is clear that they just have some kind of random name generator that they use, and just a huge master list that they pull names from - there is no tailoring or customisation whatsoever.

I went back with detailed feedback and asked for my additional 10 names which they promise you if you're not happy - the result? 10 more ridiculous names - and to verify my thoughts that they just pull from a random list, they even gave me 'Solid Scoops' for a second time even though that was one I specifically talked about in my feedback! I went back to Sophie and said it was clear they were pulling from a pre-determined list, they had in no way met my brief, and I was really disappointed in what was a total waste of time and money.

No response. They have taken my money and run.

My advice - you will come up with better names yourself! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Initial deadline was almost met - a bit of delay, but the first 20 suggestions did not match the instructions provided.

When we asked for the additional 5 names as per their value proposition we did not hear back - a month later still no reply or refund!

This is a waste of your money, would not recommend.

Received a list with name ideas for our new business. Very satisfied with the results, some names were mediocre but most were great! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a business name.
