The ask was to build a standalone Rx mobile app that had the same functionality as the web property. However, we couldn't make any changes to the backend infrastructure so we had to "design around it".
By utilizing the R.I.T.E. method we were able to identify early and often problem areas in the user experience as we tried to mirror functionality. In the end, by leveraging user research and weekly testing, we were able to land on a flow that made sense to everyone.
